This page explains what Summit Pest Control collects when you use this website, where it goes once you send it, and how to reach us about it.

This policy covers this website and the quote forms on it.

What you give us

Every quote form on this site asks for your name, phone number and email address. Most of them also ask which service you need and give you a box to describe the problem. One form asks what time of day you would prefer to be contacted.

Along with what you type, the form records which page you were on when you submitted it, so we know what you were reading when you got in touch. Each form also carries a hidden field that stays empty when a person fills the form in normally. It is there to catch automated spam, and nothing you do fills it in.

None of these forms take payment details, and there is no customer account to create on this site.

Where your form submission goes

When you press send, the form posts to a server operated by Bloomview Growth, the marketing company that builds and maintains this website. That server writes your submission to a log file kept outside the public web folder, then emails it on to Summit Pest Control at info@summit-pest-control.com so that somebody can get back to you. A copy also reaches Bloomview Growth, which is how we confirm that leads are actually arriving rather than being lost.

You will not receive an automated email back from us, and there is no reference number. After you submit, your browser lands on a thank you page, and that page is your confirmation. Someone from Summit will then contact you on the phone number or email address you gave.

What the site collects on its own

Nothing that follows you. This website runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising or social media pixels, and no session recording. It sets no tracking cookies, which is why you are not asked to accept any.

WordPress, which the site is built on, stores one small technical value in your browser recording which emoji characters your device can display. It holds no information about you and is used only to render text correctly.

As with any website, the servers that host these pages and receive form submissions keep ordinary technical logs of the requests they handle. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

Content loaded from other companies

Some pages show a Google Map of our location, or directions to it. That map is loaded directly from Google, so opening one of those pages means your browser contacts Google and Google can see the request. Google handles that under its own privacy policy, not ours.

The site also loads a styling library from a public code delivery network so that pages render correctly. Apart from that and the maps, nothing on these pages is fetched from a third party.

Links to Google Maps and to our social media profiles take you off this website. Once you follow one, the privacy policy of whichever company you land on applies instead of this one.

Advertising

Summit Pest Control advertises online, including through Google. If you arrived here by clicking one of those ads, the advertising platform recorded that click on its own systems, under its own privacy policy. This website itself carries no advertising code and no conversion tracking tags.

How we use what you send

We use it to answer your enquiry, to quote and schedule the work, and to keep a record of who contacted us and about what. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

We do not sell the information you submit through this website, and we do not hand it to advertising networks or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Who else can see it

Summit Pest Control staff, so that somebody can call you back. Bloomview Growth, which operates the form handler and the email relay on our behalf. The companies that host this website and carry our email, in the ordinary course of running those services. Beyond that, we would only pass your information on if the law required it of us.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as we need them to serve you and to run the business, including normal record keeping. We have not set a fixed deletion schedule, and we would rather tell you that than quote a number we do not actually enforce.

If you want what we hold about you deleted, email info@summit-pest-control.com and ask. We will remove it unless we are required to keep it.

Keeping it safe

This website and the server that receives your form are both served over HTTPS. Submissions are written to a log stored outside the public web folder, so it cannot be reached from a browser. The forms carry a spam trap and an hourly ceiling on submissions to limit abuse.

No system is completely secure. We cannot promise that information sent over the internet can never be intercepted.

If you live in California

California law gives residents rights over the personal information a business holds about them. You can ask what is collected and why, ask for a copy, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, opt out of it being sold or shared for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you cannot be treated differently for asking.

On the last of those there is nothing to opt out of, because we do not sell the information you send through this website and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any of the others, email info@summit-pest-control.com or call (916) 818-3863 and tell us what you want. We will ask you enough to be satisfied that the record belongs to you before we act on it. If somebody is making the request for you, we will ask for proof that they are allowed to.

Children

This website is for adults arranging pest control services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something, email info@summit-pest-control.com and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when what the website does changes. The date near the top tells you when it last changed.
